Reviewpuram (reviewpuram.in) is a film review publication written and run by Akilan Nagarajan. This page explains what data is collected when you visit the site, why, and what control you have over it.
What this site collects
Reviewpuram has no user accounts, no sign-ups, no newsletters, and no comment forms. You can read everything here without handing over any personal information. The data that does get collected is limited to the following.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how it is being read — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they use. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data such as your approximate location (city level), browser, and pages viewed. This data is aggregated; it does not identify you personally, and it is not used for anything beyond understanding readership. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
The site uses Google AdSense to serve advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site; you can opt out of many of them at aboutads.info.
Cookies and local storage
Beyond the Google Analytics and AdSense cookies described above, the site stores exactly one thing in your browser's local storage: your dark mode preference. It never leaves your device. You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings; the site remains fully readable with cookies disabled.
Third-party content
Some assets are loaded from third-party servers: fonts from Google Fonts, film posters and imagery from The Movie Database (TMDB), and diary data from Letterboxd. When your browser fetches these, those services may log standard request data such as your IP address, subject to their own privacy policies.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of operating and securing the service, per Cloudflare's privacy policy.
What this site does not do
No personal data is sold, rented, or shared with anyone beyond the services named above. There is no tracking beyond what Google Analytics and AdSense do, and no profiling done by the site itself.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and no data is knowingly collected from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date at the top.
